Why your first withdrawal takes longer than your deposit

A deposit lands instantly. Then the first withdrawal request sits there, and the difference feels arbitrary — same account, same payment method, opposite direction.

It is not the payment rail. Almost all of that delay is identity verification, and understanding what is being checked turns a frustrating wait into a one-off task you can finish in an afternoon.

Money in is easy; money out is regulated

Taking a deposit carries almost no obligation. Paying money out does. Licensed operators have to establish who you are before releasing funds, because the alternative is running an anonymous cash-out service.

That is why verification is triggered by the withdrawal rather than the signup. It is also why the delay is a one-time cost: once you are verified, later withdrawals go through on the payment method's own timetable.

What they actually ask for

Three things, almost always. Proof of identity, meaning a passport, national ID or driving licence. Proof of address, meaning a utility bill or bank statement, usually issued within the last three months. And proof of payment method — a card with the middle digits covered, or a screenshot of the e-wallet or crypto address you deposited from.

The third one surprises people. It exists because funds normally have to return to the source they came from, which is also why depositing from one method and asking to withdraw to another causes most of the avoidable delays.

Where documents fail, and it is nearly always the same four things

Corners cropped out of the image. Glare across the photo page. An address document older than three months. A name that does not match the account exactly, usually because the account was opened with a shortened first name.

Each rejection costs another review cycle, and each cycle can be a day or more. Getting all three documents right the first time is the single biggest thing you control here.

A realistic timetable

Verification review is commonly a few hours to two working days once the documents are accepted. Then the withdrawal itself is processed, which is the part that varies by method: crypto often within the hour, e-wallets usually same day, cards and bank transfers one to five working days.

Weekends matter more than people expect, because review teams and banking rails both slow down. A Friday evening request can genuinely mean Tuesday.

How to make it painless

Verify before you need to. Most casinos let you upload documents right after signing up, long before any withdrawal exists. Doing it while nothing is pending removes the entire wait from the moment it actually matters.

Use one payment method for both directions. Photograph documents flat, in daylight, with all four corners visible. Register with the exact name on your ID. And check the minimum withdrawal and any pending period in the terms before you plan around a payout.

Where crypto and low-KYC sit

Some crypto-first casinos ask for less at low volumes, which is why low-KYC crypto casinos are a category at all. Less is not none: thresholds exist, and crossing one mid-withdrawal is a common way to be asked for documents at the worst possible moment.

Payout speed is a separate question from verification, and our fast payout casinos page tracks the processing side. If bonus money is involved, the wagering has to be finished first — our guide to wagering requirements covers that half.
